Winning Pass Pattern Progressions

Product Description
with Paul Chryst,
University of Wisconsin Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach
Offensive technique and execution is the focus of this informative marker board and video presentation by the leader of the Badgers' offense. Coach Chryst shares his philosophy of teaching a pass play, with pass protection being the top priority. Plays are taught in a big group initially focusing on the intent of the play. In Red Zone and 3rd and medium situations, players know what to expect and which plays will be called. Much time and teaching is given to the depth and timing of receiver routes. Chryst explains a three-step approach for installing a pass play: classroom sessions, walk through and practice. Five practice drills are diagrammed and explained to build the play into the offensive arsenal. Team vs. team, 9 on 9 and half line skelly finalize the progression for building plays. Chryst also presents options in a normal down and distance situations. The Badgers' run formation is featured in addition to full turn protection, slide protection and big on big protection. Third down situations are analyzed along with third down priorities. Third and short, medium and long is discussed. These run plays are complemented by pass plays from each situation as well. Since games are won in the Red Zone, Chryst uses game footage to illustrate these crucial situations. Normal down and distance Red Zone, and first and third down Red Zone philosophy is shared also. Additional concepts described are building a pattern around a good receiver, designing plays with an "intent" in mind, and finding the one- on-one coverage. This DVD will assist you with teaching new plays, building a passing game around a good receiver and being successful in the Red Zone. In a game of inches, gain the advantage that can yield more wins this season.
